What If my dog needs lots of potty breaks or sniff time?
No problem! Every Sweet Paw run includes time for all the things dogs love: sniffing, bathroom breaks, and moments of joy. These sessions are about balance and wellbeing, not speed or performance.
Will You train my dog to run?
Yes. Many dogs need a little guidance to learn how to run alongside a person on leash. I use kind, reward-based methods to help your dog get comfortable and confident at a pace that works for them.
How long is each run?
You can choose from a 2.5K, 5K, or 10K run. Each run is adapted to your dog’s current fitness level and energy, and always includes time for sniffs and potty breaks. As a general guide, a 2.5K run usually takes about 30–40 minutes, a 5K takes around 45–60 minutes, and a 10K can take up to 90 minutes. Timing may vary depending on your dog’s pace and needs.
Will my dog be off-leash?
No. All runs are on-leash to ensure your dog’s safety. If you’re working on leash manners, I can integrate some positive reinforcement training into our time together.
Do I need to be present during the run?
You don’t have to be, but you’re absolutely welcome to join! Whether you want to walk, jog, cycle or get a workout in alongside your pup, I can turn it into a shared fitness experience. Or, if you’re busy or just need a break, I’ll take care of the run while you take some time for yourself.
Are you trained in dog handling or saftey?
Yes! My experience in dog handling is backed by years of hands-on work and formal training. Willy Wonka, our certified Therapy Dog, earned credentials through both Therapy Dogs of Vermont and the American Kennel Club—a process that requires extensive training, calm temperament, and reliable obedience. Willy Wonka also served five years as a “Read-to-Dog” at Burnham Memorial Library in Colchester, providing therapeutic companionship to children. In addition to this, I’ve completed various courses in dog behavior and agility training to ensure every run is safe, positive, and enriching for your pup.
